Illustrative figures for one kitchen job, never Filteraty pricing. Filteraty holds none of the money: you pay the contractor directly, and every payment is recorded here.
One place for all of it
The quote, the invoices, the photographs and the receipts stay with the project, for both of you.
On the invoice
Recorded on it
Pay the way you want
Card and bank payment go through the invoice. Anything else you agree is recorded on it.
Deposit capped at 30%
At least 4 stages from $15,000.00
Never one big payment
Filteraty's payment rules cap the deposit at 30% of the price. A job of $15,000.00 or more is billed in at least four stages.
For contractors
Send a quote in minutes, invoice each stage from your phone with photos, and get paid by card or bank payment into your own account. Your invoice, your name, your GST/HST number.
Join as a contractorCommon questions
- Does Filteraty hold my money?
- No. You pay the contractor directly, into the contractor's own payment account or by any method you agree. Filteraty never receives, holds or forwards a payment.
- What if the invoice is wrong?
- Ask for a correction from the invoice itself. The contractor voids it and sends a corrected one, or proposes a change order you approve first. An issued invoice is never edited in place.
- What does it cost?
- Filteraty charges nothing on a payment. The card or bank payment provider charges the contractor its own fee, as it would anywhere.
- Can we still agree things outside the platform?
- Yes. A payment made by cheque, cash or transfer is recorded on the invoice as paid another way, so the record stays complete.
- What is the 10% holdback?
- Under Ontario's Construction Act an owner may retain 10% of what is billed. Filteraty shows the rule at checkout and records what you chose. It does not decide for you.
